چکیده

In this work, 4-diethylamino-2-butanol (DEAB) as a new type of alkanolamine solvent is used for CO 2 capture in hollow fiber membrane contactor (HFMC). A model describing the gas and liquid reactions transport inside under wetting or non-wetting conditions was built. The countercurrent flow natural considered model. To investigate influence on decarburization efficiency, DEAB compared with other common solvents such potassium carbonate (K 3 ), triethylamine (TEA) diethanolamine (DEA). Under same operating conditions, impact parameters humidity, rate, concentration, length performance examined. results indicate that has best overall especially conditions. It noted increasing decreasing rate enhance decarburization.

Modeling and Experimental Study of Carbon Dioxide Absorption in a Flat Sheet Membrane Contactor

comIn the present study, CO2 removal from natural gas stream has been studied using a flat sheet membrane contactor. A three dimensional mathematical model is developed to describe the process. The model considers the transport of a gas mixture containing carbon dioxide and methane through a flat sheet membrane contactor module. The model is based on the non-wetted mode of operation, in which t...

Correlating Physicochemical Properties of Commercial Membranes with CO2 Absorption Performance in Gas-Liquid Membrane Contactor

The gas-liquid membrane contactor (GLMC) is a promising alternative gas absorption/desorption configuration for effective carbon dioxide (CO2 ) capture. The physicochemical properties of membranes may synergistically affect GLMC performances, especially during the long-term operations. In this work, commercial polypropylene (PP) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) hollow fiber (HF) membranes wer...

Stability of a finite-length rivulet under partial wetting conditions

We study the stability of a finite-length fluid rivulet at rest on a partially wetting surface. We consider the problem by including the intermolecular force (van der Waals interaction) within the framework of the lubrication approximation. The results are validated by comparison with numerical simulations of the full nonlinear equation. For finite length rivulets, we show that the distance bet...

Mass Transfer Modeling of CO2 Absorption into Blended MDEA-MEA Solution

In this research, the thermodynamics and mass transfer of CO2 absorption has been studied in a mixture of MDEA-MEA amines. A relation is presented for mass transfer flux in the reactive-absorption process. For this purpose, the effective parameters on the mass transfer flux were investigated in both liquid and gas phases. Then, using dimensional analysis with the Pi-Buckingham theorem, the effe...

Elastocapillary instability under partial wetting conditions: bending versus buckling.

The elastocapillary instability of a flexible plate plunged in a liquid bath is analyzed theoretically. We show that the plate can bend due to two separate destabilizing mechanisms, when the liquid is partially wetting the solid. For contact angles θ(e) > π/2, the capillary forces acting tangential to the surface are compressing the plate and can induce a classical buckling instability. However...
